Requirements

We require all teams to submit a 2 minute or less demo video.

Your video must be created the weekend of the hackathon.

Your code must be available in some sort of public repository.

It is important to note that a video demonstration of the project (minimum 3 minutes) is mandatory. It is recommended to set aside at least 3 hours for recording and uploading of demo videos. Some of the things participants can choose to talk about in the video are:

- Walk-through of the submission

- Inspiration

- Technologies used

- Problems faced while building

- Assumptions made

- What you learned

- Accomplishments

- Future scope

For inspiration, participants can browse some hackathons and submissions and look at their demo videos, on https://devpost.com or https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=hackathon+demo+videos.

To record the demo videos, participants may choose to use the open source project OBS (https://obsproject.com) or any other software. If participants choose to use OBS, they can use this quick start guide - https://obsproject.com/wiki/OBS-Studio-Quickstart. They may also contact sreekaran@codemantra.com for support with OBS, or use the help of the VERY active community.

It is recommended that participants upload their demo videos to youtube (as an unlisted video; i.e., only people that have the link can access the video). To upload to youtube, this guide may be followed - https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/57407?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop

Judging Criteria

  • Technology
How technically impressive was the hack? Was the technical problem the team tackled difficult? Did it use a particularly clever technique or did it use many different components? Did the technology involved make you go "Wow"?
  • Design
Did the team put thought into the UX? How well designed is the interface? For a website, this might be about how beautiful the CSS or graphics are. For a hardware project, it might be more about how good the human-computer interaction is.
  • Completion
Does the hack work? Did the team achieve everything they wanted?
